Before you reach the gondola they take pictures and just before that they give kids cookies and a booklet that if you turn in at the end, you get a pin. You can hike or take the gondola. The gondola takes eight minutes to get to the top. We talked to some other people that hiked up the mountain and they said that it took them two hours to climb.

The view on the mountaintop always leaves you in awe! The view in the top is amazing and wonderful. It shows an overlook the mountain nearby and the Banff valley. You can see the city center as well. We went on the weekend and surprisingly it's not crowded because it's probably off-season. If your not use to cold, I highly recommend bringing a jacket or coat up there as is it can get cold and windy. If you're in Banff, this is a must place to go to and stay up here and enjoy the views!

Sulphur Mountain offers beautiful views overlooking the town of Banff! You can either do the strenuous zig-zag hike up or pay for a gondola ride up to the top that takes about 10 minutes. Once you get up there, you can walk along the well kept boardwalk that will bring you up to a phenomenal panoramic view in all direction that showcase the incredible slanted tectonic plates jutting upward. We saw a pine marten run off from underneath the boardwalk, and also saw a group of mountain goats hanging out by the main gondola building. If you are looking for things to do in and around the town of Banff, you can't go wrong going up to Sulphur Mountain!

It was not too easy, as we did it with snow and it was quite steep. It took us around 3h30 as 59 years old beginners. It is 5.8 km long with a drop of nearly 700 meters from the bottom to the peak. After going up, we took the gondola down, which was for free that day. I truly recommend this, it is really worth the hike!
