The mountains are so big and beautiful, and you feel very small but peaceful at the same time.Yaryna Mykhalonok, August 2026
When I went up, the view took my breath away. The mountains are so big and beautiful, and you feel very small but peaceful at the same time. I just stood there and looked around, and it felt quiet inside me. It was not only a view, it was a feeling. I will remember this moment for a long time.

The mountains just keep revealing themselves, and you start to see how vast everything really is.Irish Cabigan, August 2026
One of the highlights of our trip.
It's our second time, but it honestly felt like the first time again. The ride up still has that same quiet excitement, watching the view slowly open up as you go higher and higher. The mountains just keep revealing themselves, and you start to see how vast everything really is.
At the top, it's the kind of view that makes you pause without even trying. You're surrounded by mountains in every direction, the air feels different, and everything just feels still for a moment.
Going down was just as nice, with a smooth ride back and another chance to take in the views from a different angle.
Sulphur Mountain offers beautiful views overlooking the town of Banff!Jamie Hiner, August 2026
Sulphur Mountain offers beautiful views overlooking the town of Banff! You can either do the strenuous zig-zag hike up or pay for a gondola ride up to the top that takes about 10 minutes. Once you get up there, you can walk along the well kept boardwalk that will bring you up to a phenomenal panoramic view in all direction that showcase the incredible slanted tectonic plates jutting upward. We saw a pine marten run off from underneath the boardwalk, and also saw a group of mountain goats hanging out by the main gondola building. If you are looking for things to do in and around the town of Banff, you can't go wrong going up to Sulphur Mountain!

I would say that if possible, do not visit Banff without including this.Carolyn Marovitch, August 2026
This was an incredible experience. I would say that if possible, do not visit Banff without including this.
The gondola takes you to the top of a mountain, where a 4 level building includes views of the surrounding landscape (including mountains and valleys). There are restaurants (amazing food), information, access to hiking, a deck for resting and viewing, gift shop, etc.
