Sulphur Mountain Sunset South Ranges Platform View

Railings, visitors and the edge of the platform can be incorporated into photographs to emphasize the height and scale of the viewpoint. Looking outward without foreground elements creates a more uninterrupted panorama of the southern Rockies.

When clouds are present, the scene can become particularly dramatic. High clouds may catch gold, orange, pink and red sunset colours, while breaks in the cloud cover can send narrow bands of sunlight across individual mountains and valleys.

After the sun disappears, the experience continues into twilight. The southern ranges become increasingly dark silhouettes while colour remains along the horizon, and the vast wilderness beyond Sulphur Mountain takes on a quieter, more remote character.
